What's the role?

The Senior Analyst, Product Analytics role is a technical contributor and task management role within a cross-functional team accountable for the delivery of a product roadmap.

Working together with the Q.Checkout Product lead, client leads, Woolworths and client users, and the Q.Checkout team to develop innovate analytical approach that will underpin the initiatives on the Q.Checkout roadmap.

The role will suit someone with a high proficiency in Python that enjoys having ownership and the scope to drive solutions forwards.

There are people leadership opportunities available, as well as the chance to work in a high performing product analytics division with long programmes of work and small, incremental deliveries throughout. 

What would I be doing?

  • Working heavily in Python to deliver tasks supporting the Q.Checkout roadmap and BAU product operation tasks, working in a cross-functional team managed by a Product Lead or Delivery Manager
  • Collaborate with the client leads, developers and the support teams when identifying and the support teams when identifying and investigating data issues, communicating impact, suggesting resolution approaches and supporting change management communications
  • Acting as key client liaison to relate business requirements for assigned sections of the analytics efforts
  • Leading assigned sections of analytics solution design with minimal guidance (typically components of Q.Checkout with a clear set of inputs and output requirements, such as descriptive models)
  • Define, test and validate new development, both at the data level and final figures in the front-end of the Q.Checkout tool
  • Writing the specifications for an analytics algorithm to be implemented by software engineers
  • Communicate results of the investigations, new feature development or rectification work and prioritisation dates to internal and external stakeholders (Woolworths and supplier)
  • Carrying out a process required for BAU delivery of any aspect of the product that needs regular production
  • Investigating issues raised by users
  • Following and instilling in junior peers the best practice guidelines, tools and formal processes for analytics practised at Quantium
  • Liaising with customers of the product, both internal and external, to respond to queries, and communicate updates relating to delivery of new features and BAU
  • Providing estimates of work effort, timeframes and costings for analytics tasks. Peer reviewing estimates developed by team members
  • Taking active steps to continuously improve own performance and drive own career development, requesting assistance as required
  • Taking active steps to drive improvement in the knowledge, capability level and quality of work of Associate Analysts and Analysts in own team

 What skills and experience do I need?

 We know people are not bullet points, but we would expect you to have:

  • A technical degree, such as Actuarial, Maths/Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics etc.
  • Execllent level of Python proficiency (essential)
  • Product Analyst experience (ideally data products), to understand how teams and specialists sit together to create things
  • FMCG or Retail knowledge would be advantageous given the datasets that we're working with
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including ability to apply a systematic problem-solving approach
  • Exepriecne defining and reviewing methodologies, code and deliverables in line with the product roadmap and analytical frameworks
  • A collaborative style and the ability to work with and positively influence a variety of people across all levels and functions will see you succeed
