The Role

  • Role summary

    The Lead Product Manager, wiq, is a high impact role in a high growth business focused on managing a strategic product through early stage growth into maturity.

    You will act as a champion of user-centric product and agile practices within the business. You will develop, implement and continuously improve the go-to-market strategy for our products, ensuring product-market fit (as it relates to the user base), as well as seeking additional customer insight to enhance the value proposition.

    Strong partnering and influencing skills will be required for this role, as well as the ability to work effectively in ambiguous environments while focusing on your ideal outcome.

    Key responsibilities

    Lead product strategy

    • Create a vision and strategy for the product, ensuring alignment with key stakeholders on the target business outcomes and trade-offs underpinning the roadmap
    • Define the product value proposition, based on deep understanding of user needs and analysis of market and competitor landscape
    • Define the commercialisation and go-to-market strategy for the product, partnering across Woolworths and Quantium to execute on that strategy
    • Develop and present business cases to secure funding for the roadmap
    • Establish KPIs to track validation of product-market fit and iterate strategy based on learnings
    • Prepare and deliver executive briefings on these topics with stakeholders

    Lead end-to-end product delivery

    • Conduct continuous discovery activities with the business and user base to ensure that the product is optimised to deliver value throughout its lifecycle
    • Refine the product backlog and manage the pipeline of ideas and features
    • Collaborate with Delivery, User Experience specialists, Engineering and Analytics team members to uncover valuable, usable, feasible, viable and strategic solutions
    • Ensure that delivered work meets the definition of ‘done’ - satisfying user needs and delivering on business outcomes

    Provide thought leadership on user-centric, advanced analytics product development

    • Provide thought leadership on the digital transformation agenda and use of data science and analytics to unlock value for retail use-cases
    • Play an active role in the Product Chapter, coaching others on the principles and approaches underpinning best practice, such as design thinking, agile and lean product practices, and championing the value of Product Management across wiq and wider Quantium

    ·         Keep constantly up to date with what is going on the in the wider industry

     

    Experience and education required

    • 5+ years’ experience in product management, with experience in SaaS providers or in the B2B environment preferred
    • Knowledge of the data science and AI domain, with experience in developing solutions to derive value from data to inform better business decisions
    • Demonstrable experience working in an agile environment
    • Degree qualified; postgraduate qualifications highly valued 
    • Sharp problem-solving skills with experience partnering with stakeholders to solve complex user and business problems using advanced analytics   
    • Well-developed senior stakeholder management and influencing skills
    • Retail / FMCG industry knowledge, and knowledge of commercial process is a major advantage
    • Experienced team leader
    • Superior presentation and communications skills (written and verbal)
